Gasthaus Barthels Hof in Leipzig

We found the ambience in the Barthels Hof very good and went there to eat. The service was very courteous (there was water for the dogs) and not pushy. The quality of the food was okay. We'll be back for sure.

Good home-style cuisine, but there is still some room for improvement. Nice service and very nice atmosphere. Definitely recommended.

We have often snuck around the restaurant and each time we have decided to take a seat here. Now it has finally happened and I have to say we should have done that long ago. To say it in advance, we liked it so much that we will be happy to come back. You sit beautifully in this exhibition courtyard, away from the hustle and bustle and the historic walls exude a pleasant grandeur. Who would have thought that over 500 years ago the contracts concluded during the day were watered in the evening ?! The restaurant is nicely decorated, the service was always eager to please and was brisk. The food was also very well received by everyone involved and my veal liver was just brutally delicious! There is not the slightest thing to complain about, on the contrary: we had a great time with friends here in this historic restaurant and it calls for a repeat. Many thanks to the Barthels team !!!

Were here today on October 17th, 2020 for lunch with friends, in one of the oldest inns in Leipzig. The ambience is just beautiful, the waitresses are very nice and not intrusive. The menu is clear and there is something for every taste. The greeting from the kitchen was very tasty. The food I ordered was delicious. The way of serving also liked. All in all, we had a great time here and would love to come back. Thank you!

We ate well, but the restaurant has a small menu and drinks and meals are priced higher.

Rustic atmosphere and food. Not barrier-free. Warm service. And we found an old East word that was popular everywhere ...

The food was impeccable, the game soup surprisingly good, at the rush hour 6pm there was probably a little too little staff, despite the very hard work of the staff, it sometimes took too long.

Nice restaurant; nice, dedicated service; very tasty food

The restaurant is in a beautiful location and, despite its size, is quite nicely decorated. The staff is friendly and eager to act with care. The food is awful! For the price you expect different! We were 5 people, so 5 different meals and therefore 5 times neutral taste. Homemade definitely tastes different, it was food out of the bag, or a cook who does not master his job ..... It's a shame for the beautiful and traditional restaurant .......

The location is very nice and cozy. The service very friendly. Then why only three stars. First, the portions were on the small side. Price-performance ratio therefore only average and secondly the food was only lukewarm and not sufficiently seasoned. However, it tasted good. Finally, it should be noted that I am not of the opinion that pear juice with mineral water becomes a homemade lemonade if you put a large bouquet of rosemary in it.

If you are looking for peace and quiet in the otherwise lively marketplace, you will find it here. Then there is also a good menu with high-quality delicacies at affordable prices.

Because the food is very tasty and the service is very nice. It's in the middle of Leipzig, but very quiet because this restaurant is in the inner courtyard. The ice cream is also delicious and reasonably priced. So very recommendable!

Super friendly and experienced waiter. I had the Mutzbraten (Pork shish-kebab with Marjoram), Sauerkraut, and Kartoffelbaumkuchen (layers of cooked mashed pototoes topped on one another like a cake). Very delicious!! Only negative which I told the waiter, was that I only got one Kartoffelbaumkuchen and not two. ;-) My son said it was the best Sauerbraten that he had ever had.

After two devastating fires (arson), the historic inn was reopened and closed again due to Corona. Now it shines in new splendor and offers good Saxon and international. Kitchen. We recommend.

Stayed there with some friends tonight. Patio was cozy and appealing, the service staff was friendly, the food was excellent. Everything was perfectly coordinated. Would love to come back.

We were there 2 weeks ago. The food was delicious from start to finish. Cream of asparagus soup, sauerbraten, Mutzbraten, salad ... everything was great !! All of the staff were very nice and friendly. Definitely recommendable! We will definitely be happy to come back !!

A nice restaurant in a venerable building. The prices are more on a higher level. That would be no problem, if then everything would be right. Unfortunately, we have to wait for our food very long, on the espresso after too. And that, even though it was not really full. However, the service was very friendly, so I could go to four stars. Three would actually be correct.
